イベントへの想い
メタばあちゃんプロジェクトは自身の活動を通じて多くの人に「挑戦は何歳からでも遅くないこと」を伝えることを目標にしています。メンバーにはアイドルを若い頃目指していた方や自身の歌声を収録したCDをつくって知り合いに配っている方もいます。
今回のイベントは高齢者の持っている「スキルや情熱」を介護施設や地域に留めるのではなく、メタバースなどのIT技術を通じて世界に発信していく挑戦への第一歩です。

元気が有り余っているユニークなおばあちゃんたちをメタバースの世界で人気アイドルに育てていくプロジェクトです。広島県三原市出身85歳のひろこが0期生としてデビューしている。YouTubeチャンネルはデビュー10日後に登録者3万人を突破した。ひろこは週刊朝日「今年“跳ねる”100人の主役」に選出されている。「挑戦は何歳からでも遅くないこと」を証明していきます。応募総数60名以上が集まった後期高齢者(75歳以上)しか応募できないオーディションを勝ち抜いた3名(ハマコ・はなえ・かおる)がメタばあちゃん1期生としてデビューしグループの平均年齢も80歳となった。

Thoughts for the event
Through our activities, Meta Grandma Project aims to convey to as many people as possible that it is not too late to take on challenges, no matter what age you are. Some of the members had aspirations of becoming idols when they were young, and the other has made CDs of her own singing and distributed them to her acquaintances.
This event is the first step toward the challenge of taking the “skills and passions” possessed by the elderly and sharing them with the world through IT technologies such as Metaverse, rather than keeping them in nursing homes and the community.

What is the “Meta Grandma” Project?
The “Meta Grandma” Project is a project to foster unique grandmothers who have a surplus of energy into becoming popular idols in the world of the Metaverse. Hiroko was debut as a 0th memer of Meta Grandma. She was born in Hiroshima Prefecture Mihara City, she is 85 years old. Ten days after her debut, the YouTube channel reached 30,000 subscribers. She was selected as one of the “100 Leading Role Who Will “Bounce” This Year” by Weekly Asahi. We prove that “it’s never too late to take on a challenge, no matter how old you are!”
Three members (Hamako, Hanae, and Kaoru) who won the audition in which more than 60 people applied and which was only open to the elderly (over 75 years old) made their debut as the first generation of Meta Grandma. The average age of the group is now 80 years old.
